“Celtic have a fight on their hands” – Journalist drops Eddie Howe bombshell amid EPL interest

|

As Celtic fans eagerly await the announcement of Eddie Howe, it seems the appointment may not be signed, sealed or delivered as interest from the English Premier League has now been confirmed by journalist, Mark Guidi.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Guidi issued a stark warning to Celtic fans, and the board, that they should not take for granted that Howe will become the next Celtic gaffer, “We’ve always been aware, I’ve said in this programme many times, and the past few weeks that Eddie Howe was on the radar of Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace are set to formalise a parting of the ways with Roy Hodgson which has always been on the cards.

Should Marian Shved get another chance at Celtic?

“And so Crystal Palace by all accounts have always had a young English manager on their radar. You mentioned Steven Gerrard on the radar here, three, four weeks ago, which is true, he’s a name in the frame. Eddie Howe is a name of the frame, Frank Lampard he’s a name in the frame.

“So as we’ve always said in any job, until it’s signed and sealed,  you can never take anything for granted and Celtic may just have a fight on their hands for Eddie Howe”

Vital Celtic warned on the 2nd April that this could be a possibility as Palace boss, Roy Hodgson, refused to discuss his future at the EPL minnows when asked if he was going to extend his contract which expires in the summer, a story which certain sections of the Celtic support felt was irrelevant. I bet they don’t now.

Let’s hope incoming C.E.O., Dominic McKay, has an ace up his sleeve when he finally takes the reigns later this month and makes the Howe announcement official.
