John Hartson has urged the club to get a deal done for Dedryck Boyata to stop potential suitors swooping in and taking him away.
The centre-half, it’s safe to say, divides opinion.
Personally, despite his mistakes, I think we should keep hold of him for a little longer at least because he can be a useful player for us.
On the other hand, though, I know that many call him a bombscare and think we should take any money that comes for him and run.
Certainly, then, it divides opinion but Big John thinks we should make a deal happen sooner rather than later:
Celtic top priority is to get Boyata on a long term deal.. the vultures will be all over him after his World Cup displays.. if John Stones is 50m then Boyata is in same bracket. Celtic should be in his his hotel room Now with a contract offer ! #gettorussia

The Verdict
It’s an interesting debate and I think the club will eventually offer him a new contract this summer.
He’s done well this World Cup with Belgium and I’d expect him to hopefully carry that on into next season.
If he does, he’d be a more than useful player to keep hold of.
