Quoted by the Scottish Sun, John Kennedy as sought to address the transfer chatter doing the rounds about Kieran Tierney this summer and effectively bat it off.

The left-back, despite being injured for much of last season, is our best player and certainly the one that could bring in the most money if he did leave.

However, he is therefore also so important to any success we want to have in the future and keeping him at the club is always an aim we want to have in the transfer window.

Kennedy, a man who will have his finger on the pulse at Lennoxtown more than most, then, has looked to basically play talk of Napoli and Arsenal being interested down as nothing but the usual transfer stories.

He said:

“It has been the same for the last four windows, hasn’t it?

“Kieran is still recovering from surgery. His rehab will continue over the next couple of weeks.

“It’s one we’ll have to monitor. He will be pushing it towards the stage of the qualifiers.

“But we’ll have to see how he is feeling on a daily basis.”

Certainly, the reports are always a concern when it comes to KT but Kennedy has perhaps been a bit coy in what he has had to say.

He’s focused more on the lad’s recovery from injury and suggested the stories are just more speculation – I guess time will tell exactly what happens here.

  • I’m deeply concerned with the lack of interest of the players we’re trying to sign. Could be that they see Lennon as a step back and don’t fancy playing under him.

  • A step back is not the word for it, OK he did a fair job last time but just look at how the team played for the last part of the season as always with lennon it’s sideways or backwards this is not how celtic play or the way the fans want to see celtic play, and yeah the caliber of player we could have got under rodgers, bilic, benitez, are of a better class than lennon will be able to bring to the club despite never having a lot of money to spend thanks Mr lawell for that. But I’m far from impressed with the current players linked with the club

  • There is nothing wrong with passing backwards or sideways
Its wat they have to do if no ones making runs like there meant to and as for the transfers well we have shyved who is class btw and having griffiths back is a massive plus and as 4 KT he aint going nowhere till 10IAR is brought to paradise and also celtic are renowned for being slow at the start of transfer markets and i guarantee there will be at least 2 next week maybe even a 3rd if the players agent isnt on deluded gas lol dont worry bhoys and ghirls just think of the number 5 TRUST ME HH
