Celtic insider addresses concerning transfer talk

|

Quoted by the Scottish Sun, John Kennedy as sought to address the transfer chatter doing the rounds about Kieran Tierney this summer and effectively bat it off.

The left-back, despite being injured for much of last season, is our best player and certainly the one that could bring in the most money if he did leave.

However, he is therefore also so important to any success we want to have in the future and keeping him at the club is always an aim we want to have in the transfer window.

Kennedy, a man who will have his finger on the pulse at Lennoxtown more than most, then, has looked to basically play talk of Napoli and Arsenal being interested down as nothing but the usual transfer stories.

He said:

“It has been the same for the last four windows, hasn’t it?

“Kieran is still recovering from surgery. His rehab will continue over the next couple of weeks.

“It’s one we’ll have to monitor. He will be pushing it towards the stage of the qualifiers.

“But we’ll have to see how he is feeling on a daily basis.”

Certainly, the reports are always a concern when it comes to KT but Kennedy has perhaps been a bit coy in what he has had to say.

He’s focused more on the lad’s recovery from injury and suggested the stories are just more speculation – I guess time will tell exactly what happens here.
