As revealed by the Birmingham Mail, Celtic were among a glut of clubs looking at trying to sign Pione Sisto this summer transfer window but they, like everyone else, failed in their attempts.
The report has revealed how the talented left-winger was catching the attention of Aston Villa, Tigres and others, including the Bhoys, but that he decided instead that he would not move to any of them.
Celtic, of course, have got some good wide-men in the likes of Ryan Christie and James Forrest – whilst Tom Rogic should be returning soon – but Sisto would have likely still been a good signing.
He has blistering pace to call upon and a real ability to beat a man, so he would have been a hit in Scotland I think it is safe to say.
However, Aston Villa would have perhaps been able to sign him ahead of us given their financial clout, though it didn’t even get that far with the winger opting to stay put.
