Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is a doubt for the UEFA Europa League qualifying clash against FK Suduva on Thursday night, according to The Scottish Sun.

The French striker was a shock omission from Tuesday night’s squad for the AEK Athens tie and was also missing for Saturday’s League Cup fixture away to Partick Thistle.

The Scottish Sun say that while the injury is thought to be minor, he is still battling to be fit for the trip to Lithuania.

With Kieran Tierney also missing training late last week and the weekend’s fixture, it appears that there will be no let up from the injury problems that have plagued Celtic’s summer.

Fortunately Moussa Dembele is returning to full fitness and looked sharp coming off the bench on Saturday, scoring the crucial second goal to send the Hoops on their way to victory.

He would obviously be a fantastic alternative to Edouard, who has started the season well himself.

Emilio Izaguirre also looked like he hasn’t missed a step on his return to the club, filling in for Tierney at Firhill and proving he could be a viable alternative this Thursday night.
