Kenny Dalglish became a sir over the weekend for his services to football.
A legend for both us and Liverpool as a player and then the Reds as a manager, he’s one of the greats in the game in this country.
Not only as a football man, though, but as a human being, has he repeatedly underlined his class and selflessness with his strength through Hillsborough and obvious example to that.
The King already to us and Reds, though, we never felt he needed this recognition but here is what he had to say about it – as per our club’s Twitter account:
Congratulations on your honour King Kenny, @kennethdalglish.

Kenny worked under some of the best managers the game has known so it might make sense that he turned out rather handy himself!
A typically humble statement from a man who personifies humanity, King Kenny continues to represent us with great distinction – and that will surely continue.
