As quoted by Football Insider, former Celtic player Jackie McNamara has said that he has huge doubts that the Bhoys are actually interested in Hearts forward Uche Ikpeazu.

The Bhoys are currently second in the league after a couple of hiccups in the Scottish Premiership against Hibernian and Livingston.

We need to ensure those are stopped in order to get back in front of Rangers, and we may well look to the transfer market in order to improve our squad in January.

However, when asked about Ikpeazu and the rumours surrounding him and our club at the moment, McNamara sounded full of doubt.

He said:

“I don’t think (there’s anything in that). I’d be surprised if that was real, it might just be his agent.

“He’s done well for Hearts, he’s strong but there’s a big difference.”

He’s got a point, too.

Though Ikpeazu plays well for Hearts and does a good job, he’s not scored many for them and he’s not what you call top class.

Odsonne Edouard is the benchmark, we shouldn’t be aiming lower than that with striker recruitment.
