Democratic Republic of Congo international Cedric Mongongu is the latest defender who is interesting Scottish champions Celtic.

The 23-year-old former Monaco player is currently with French Ligue 1 club Evian and has ten international caps to his credit.

Only yesterday the Hoops were being linked with a move for Dutch Under-21 international centre-back Virgil van Dijk, who is still under contract with Groningen for the next couple of years.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon requires reinforcements at the back with Thomas Rogne moving on, Rami Gershon at the end of a loan spell and Efe Ambrose away on Confederations Cup duty and missing the start of the season.
