According to the Daily Record, Celtic are currently monitoring Lawrence Shankland and have been sending scouts to Dundee United games to see just how good he is.

He’s a name that is generating a great deal of interest in him in the lower leagues in Scotland and it hasn’t been long that he has been playing for the men from Tannadice Park.

However, with 15 goals in 12 games it is clear that he is intent on making it to the very top and it is no surprise that the Hoops are now apparently keen.

We’ve got the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths in the side at the moment but there’s no reason to suggest that we couldn’t do with another forward as we aim to maintain our grip on the domestic scene.

And, indeed, if we lost a forward for whatever reason, it might also be worth having Shankland in.
