According to Football Insider, Celtic are looking to offer Callum McGregor an improved deal after summer interest in him from Leicester City.
The midfielder is certainly one of our better players and showed that last season with some driving performances from the middle of the park.
It’s perhaps no surprise, then, that former manager Brendan Rodgers was looking at him for his new club Leicester but we managed to keep hold of the player and now we’re looking to press home that advantage.
According to the report, we’re willing to offer £35k-a-week to the midfielder in this new deal and that would certainly make him one of the better paid players at the club.
It’s hard to argue with him becoming that, too, because he is certainly capable of making it into the Premier League and playing at that level.
Hopefully, though, we can keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.
