Celtic reportedly want to hire Nicky Hammond as their new Director of Football to take over from where Lee Congerton left off – according to the Sun.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper has done the job for both Reading and West Brom during his career and was part of the Baggies’ set-up when they last won promotion to the Premier League, and the time before.

Clearly, he has a good eye for a player and the Bhoys are evidently keen on getting him in as we look to start making things happen this summer.

Certainly, we need someone in that is going to shake things up in terms of our recruitment policy as so far we have struggled to really make things happen in this window.

David Turnbull has gone out the window and with other players leaving already, we need to ensure we are smarter in the market before it closes for business in August.
