We were always going to need a strong January transfer window, given how competitive Rangers have been this season, and Celtic have delivered just that so far this term.

The Hoops have brought in a handful of new faces, and our attack – in particular – is looking very strong as we head into the business end of the season.

However, Celtic mad pundit John Hartson has predicted that even more transfer excitement could be on the horizon for the Hoops.

Writing in his Evening Times article, Hartson said: “With still more than a fortnight left to go then I fully suspect that Celtic will still add to the guys that they have brought in”.

He later added: “I still think there is time to get in another centre-half and a right-back”.

Certainly, the defence is an area that needs to see some improvement from Celtic’s perspective, with a lack of consistency and quality depth demanding some attention.

Whilst Celtic should be pleased with what they’ve done so far, it’s important to recognise that Rangers have matched them and arguably done even better, and so it’s vital that we continue to improve.

Hartson seems pretty optimistic about the prospect of a few more fresh faces, and that’s good news for us.
