Celtic have made a loan enquiry to West Bromwich Albion for 21-year-old winger Oliver Burke, as reported by The Daily Mail.

After the season-ending injury to Daniel Arzani, Celtic are struggling a bit for depth in the wide attacking areas and it’s a position seen as a priority in this month’s transfer window.

James Forrest has been in electrifying form but Scott Sinclair’s form has been inconsistent and having more competition in both positions would be a real boost to Brendan Rodgers’ squad.

The Mail say that negotiations are at an early stage, but the Baggies are said to be interested in letting him leave on a temporary basis, just 16 months after signing him from RB Leipzig for big money.

Now rated at £9m by Transfermarkt, a move to Celtic would be a big chance for the Scotland U21 international to re-ignite a promising career, having failed to make an impact at the English Championship outfit.

Having made over 75 career appearances combined for West Brom, Leipzig and Nottingham Forest, he has decent experience for his age and should be able to come in an compete for a starting position from the off.

That’s the kind of signings Celtic need this month and hopefully we can go out and bring our initial January targets to the club early.
