Celtic reportedly want £15m at least before considering selling Kris Ajer this summer with Leicester City reportedly keen on signing the defender from us.

This comes from the Leicester Mercury who suggest the Foxes are taking a look at him, with former Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers in charge there of course.

We’ve seen Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic leave the club, among other defenders, and I personally cannot see us doing much better than having Ajer in the side for the new season.

Naturally, then, we’ve put on quite a price for him but the Foxes certainly have the clout to pay for him with them just selling Harry Maguire for an eye-watering amount to Manchester United.

With only a few days left in the transfer window for English Premier League sides, though, we’re soon going to see whether or not he, or anyone else for that matter, is going to leave before that particular deadline.

  • not sure where George is getting his info from .
15 mill for a 21yr old full international center back !!!! someone is having a laff
try doubling that and then some .

  • Celtic would be crazy to accept 15m for Ajer in a market where Harry Maguire is worth 85m. Celtic will never get value for money if they continue to sell players below their market value.

  • Ajer is turning into an excellent player. Celtic would be stupid to sell him. Ajer himself is not that daft to go to a bit part club like Leicester. In fact any player with any real aspiration is not going to Leicester as they cannot compete with the top 6 in England (apart from their blip season)

    • Tony,
Seriously! Celtic play in a 3rd rate league, and would probably finish 7th in the English Championship. Leicester may not be as big a club as Celtic, but I assure you they are a much better football team and club – ask Brendan Rogers why he came.

      • JimLCFC, 7th in the Championship, your having a laugh, if Celtic had the same cash as the clubs down south they would be top 6 in the Premiership. The only reason Rogers left was because of the lure of the Premiership not because its Leicester. 85million for Maguire is a great piece of business for an average player to say the least.

      • Leicester had a fluke when they won the premier league title Celtic are going for nine in a row and have done the treble treble and have sold some quality players to the premier league wake up you muppet

  • I would not be surprised if Leicester offered 40 mil plus for Ajer and Tierney. Getting 80 mi, for Maguire was unbelievable therefore they have cash and Rodgers rates both players. It will be an interesting 24 hours or so. Celtic need to hold out and sell no one. Now that is a statement of intent.

  • We don’t need the money either for Ajer or Tierney so I would simply state today that they are not for sale. The offer of £15 million is an insult, much like Arsenal’s derisory offer for KT. Enough of this nonsense.
