Celtic have brought in a few new faces already this January, and with a few weeks remaining until the window slams shut, we’re still hoping for one or two more to join.
Kristoffer Ajer has recently been discussing the new arrivals with the Celtic View (as per the official Celtic website), and he thinks that the new additions could have a transformative impact on the squad this term.
He said: “To get new players into the squad really helps a squad in terms of learning from new players…and it’s also competition for places in the team. So that’s really healthy for any squad.
Ajer continued: “That’s probably the most important thing for your development as well – to know that there are always fantastic players who want to play in your position as well, so that’s really helpful for all the players in the squad”.
Not only do new faces help to improve the quality within the squad, but Ajer notes the importance that they can have on personal development, too. Certainly, when you’ve got players like Timothy Weah – who trained with so many quality players at PSG – that’s only going to have a positive effect on the players at the club, particularly the youngsters.
Obviously, the main reason why they’ve been brought in, though, is to have a positive impact on the field, and we’re confident that that’s exactly what they’ll do.
It’s been a good season for us, but a few new faces will only make it better.
