Celtic have had a late bid to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Kevin Doyle on loan turned down.

Wolves boss Dean Saunders confirmed an approach from the Scottish champions to take the 29-year-old Republic of Ireland international until the end of the season.

But Celtic would appear to have held onto the services of top scorer Gary Hooper despite a number of offers from Norwich City.

Hooper has already netted 22 goals this season and more than seventy since joining the Hoops in July 2010.
