MLS side Sporting Kansas City have joined the list of suitors hoping to sign midfielder and Celtic captain Scott Brown on a free transfer, as he approaches the end of his current deal, according to The Scottish Sun.

Australian side Western Melbourne have already been linked with a potential move for the Hoops veteran and now a new club with money to burn are hoping to offer him a lucrative deal.

The paper report that Brown has yet to receive a concrete offer from any of his suitors, although the American side have registered their interest with his representatives.

More worryingly, they also reckon that Celtic have yet to make an offer to the player either, although have been in discussions to extend his stay in Glasgow beyond 2019.

With interest only going to increase in his services as time goes on, this is a situation the club need to sort as soon as possible.

Although perhaps not as vital to Brendan Rodgers’ squad as he once was, he’s still a huge player for us and won’t be easily replaced, even if players like Callum McGregor are stepping up recently.

Whether he is tempted to land a lucrative offer abroad remains to be seen. My money would be on him signing a new deal at the Hoops, with some kind of route into coaching at Lennoxtown also proposed.
