As far as Sunday’s result and performance goes, the result was disappointing but the performance was unacceptable.

No one has the divine right to win every match but what you do want to see in a team is fight and endeavor.

That was missing in abundance on Sunday and it does seem that certain players did look over tired and fatigued.

But would this suggestion by Celtic podcaster Ryan McGinlay made any difference to the teams performance in the Scottish Cup and is his prediction about James Forrest also correct?

Speaking on Twitter, McGinley tweeted, “Karamoko should have been an option for us at Hampden on Sunday.”

He was basing this opinion on the youngsters brilliant assist in the youth cup final defeat yesterday where Dembele showed great power and pace on the wing.

But in a caveat to that, he also claimed that Celtic legend James Forrest career at Celtic could be up after posting a clip on Twitter of the winger struggling to track back to stop an attack in Sunday’s cup semi final.

Career over for Forrest? I’m not sure. Maybe a change of position to help counter the fact that he has lost his pace may help.

But how often has Forrest played a more defensive role in his time at the club?

Maybe McGinlay is right.

Maybe Forrest time is up.

Or maybe we should just trust the managers judgement because clearly he must see something that Forrest offers in training that Dembele doesn’t.
