The Celtic world was set alight yesterday with the Scottish media going overboard with Ange being linked to the Leeds United job.
The links were, shall we say, tenuous at best?
For me, a former player giving quotes to the media to tell his old club to go and get Ange is not a link. Not in the least.
Just as I would say a former Celtic player (Chris Sutton) coming out to rubbish the rumours isn’t exactly quashing a move, it’s all just paper talk up here and it is getting rather tedious.
And even if you have the time to check out the odds on Ange taking over at Elland Road, at last check, the gaffer isn’t even in the top ten of candidates.
Now, that is not a slight on Postecoglou. History tells us that very rarely does a manager of Celtic go straight into a job in the English Premier League. As far as I can recall, only Brendan Rodgers and Martin O’Neill have done it this century.
However, Graeme Bailey’s latest update on the EPL strugglers managerial hunt will certainly help calm the nerves (if there was any) of the Celtic support as he tweeted a late night update on the managerial hunt:
Leeds are set to go with a manager in work – Rayo Vallecano's Andoni Iraola is a strong candidate whilst Feyenoord's Arne Slot has also emerged on their radar.
Slot currently has Feyenoord two points clear at the top of the Eredivisie.@90min_Football https://t.co/0Jzc1ZfXZw

As I said yesterday, there will come a point when Ange will leave Celtic. There is no doubt about that.
But now is not that time, not when he has unfinished business at the club.
