Celtic ready to do three player deals for next season

|

Celtic are in discussions to sign Scott Sinclair, Nir Bitton and Mikael Lustig up to new deals at the club, as reported by The Daily Record.

Sinclair and Lustig were key players throughout the Brendan Rodgers era and have continued to be consistently selected by Neil Lennon while Bitton has recently returned from a long-term injury to help the Hoops win crucial matches.

Lustig’s contract expires at the end of the season while Bitton’s and Sinclair’s are up next summer.

Lennon has confirmed the club are in talks with all three, telling The Daily Record: “Discussions are ongoing at the minute. Lustig and a few others are speaking as well, like Scott Sinclair and Nir Bitton. That’s ongoing at the minute.”

Having received serious criticism over the last 18 months, Lustig has turned his form around in recent weeks and was excellent today at home to Rangers, giving us real solidity on the right flank up against winger Ryan Kent.

Sinclair meanwhile continues to bang in the goals and has scored an impressive 17 this season alone. Despite recently turning 30, he still has plenty to offer the Hoops.

Bitton has a lot to do to force his way into the team on a consistent basis ahead of stars like Scott Brown, Callum McGregor, Olivier Ntcham and Ryan Christie, but is a useful option that provides depth.
