According to the Express, Celtic are ready to up their bid from £1.7m to £2m in order to try and sign Ivorian talent Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

The player has been highlighted as one for the future by many with him packing real power and pace in terms of the final third.

He has ripped things up of late and could be an ideal forward to have as another option, which is why we’re going after him.

Our initial bid was rejected, though, and so it seems clear that the Bhoys are trying to go a bit higher – though for the sake of £300,000 it seems we’re playing hardball.

If we want the player, let’s go and get him if we think he is good enough.

I don’t expect us to spend big money this window but if we muck around for too long we’re going to have another John McGinn scenario.

  • I really want the right back and center half sorted b4 a forward boyata is off benkovik will be away in May these are areas that need addressed and as good as a servant lustic has been its time to move on a forward is needed I know but these are going to be problems we can’t dismiss

  • If big money not spent i think Rodgers will go in summer win or loose title. Maybe thats the biggest sign that change is coming dont think rift between manager and board has been sorted. Board seem to have problem buying players but can sell them quick enough. Every manager after 3years has same problem board dont wont to take club forward and stall when manager asks for money to take us to next level. Oneil, Strachen, Lennon and Rodgers the pattern continues. hail hail.

  • Celtic will not spend any money as spending 9 mil on Eduoard has caused such a trauma for the board. Rodgers has played their game for a bonus. He needs to fully expose the board in the media, out them for the damage they are doing. How can Celtic be getting out spent by the chetas when they have not earned any money in their history. They have never received a transfer fee for a player while Celtic have received over 40 million from Southampton alone not to mention CL cash. FAt Pete is interested in a museum and a hotel not the team. But opening these white elephants if the team has failed to win 10 in a row will prove disastrous. The number of customers will be significantly reduced.
