Celtic receive massive double fitness boost ahead of Ibrox visit

|

Celtic defenders Mikael Lustig and Kieran Tierney are both expected to be fit for this weekend’s derby against Rangers at Ibrox, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Neil Lennon’s team face off against Steven Gerrard’s side for the last time this season and although we travel across the city having already secured an eighth league title in a row, fans will be desperate for the Hoops to pick up a win.

To do that we’ll need our strongest team possible and there’s great news tonight on the status of both Tierney and Lustig, with the paper saying both full-backs are expected to feature at Ibrox despite injury concerns.

Tierney was substituted off early in the second half against Aberdeen on Saturday, while Lustig appeared to suffer a muscle injury late in the title winning clash.

The Swede did some light training at Lennoxtown today according to the report, while Tierney will be fit despite needing surgery at the end of the season.

Having both available is great news considering the lack of capable back-up.

The defensive duo also thrive on derby days and will likely be crucial if we are to secure an Ibrox result.
