The Hoops having sought the services of new players in the position for two transfer windows now, first failing to bring Cristiano Piccini to the club before delivering the loan signing of Borussia Dortmund man Jeremy Toljan.

It’s no secret the veteran Swede is on his way out of the club, but the destination is becoming a little clearer.

Swedish outlet Fotball Direkt report that both AIK Stockholm and Malmo have made offers to the 73-cap international, with the latter club offering him a more lucrative deal than the reigning Allsvenkan champions.

Celtic have a massive summer of rebuilding ahead and it’s the right time for Lustig to move on after over 250 appearances for the Hoops.

With Toljan likely heading back to Germany as well, it meansright-back will be a crucial position to recruit for in the upcoming window. There can be no excuses when it comes to securing a quality player who help us dominate domestically and at least compete in Europe.

The veteran Swede will move on with the best wishes of every supporter having played a big part in our massive success over the last seven years.

Hopefully the 32-year-old can find the right home to spend the remaining years of his career.
