Celtic manager Neil Lennon is relaunching his efforts to sign Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason.

Lennon was back watching the £5m-rated forward in action for Heerenveen against AZ Alkmaar last night.

However, the Scottish champions can expect plenty of competition for his services in January with a number of other clubs interested, including La Liga outfit Villarreal, plus others in Germany and England.

Finnbogason, 24, has scored sixteen goals in just fifteen games this season and has already told his club he won’t be signing a new deal, although he currently still has eighteen months left to run.

Meanwhile, Lennon also ran the rule over AZ striker Aron Johannsson during the same game.
