Celtic rubbish damaging rumours first-team star is on verge of being sacked

|

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is working harder than ever to make a first-team return at the Hoops, with club sources rubbishing social media rumours he is on the verge of being sacked, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Damaging rumours seem to go hand-in-hand with the Scotland international, often through no fault of his own.

The paper say that wild speculation was circulating on social media sites earlier today, claiming that the club were set to cut ties with the striker, but it’s apparently all nonsense.

Griffiths hasn’t appeared for Celtic since December, taking a break from football to work on personal issues off the pitch.

Recently though he’s been back at Lennoxtown building his fitness and trying to force his way into Neil Lennon’s first-team plans.

Fans are eagerly awaiting his return, knowing he possesses a unique goal threat in the Hoops squad.

He’s the first striker since John Hartson to score over 100 goals for the club and as he posted on Twitter earlier today, he’s looking forward to netting many more.

Hopefully he is now given peace to focus on his training as we approach the end of the season.
