As reported by outlets such as The Scottish Sun, Celtic are amongst the favourites to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart this summer, with the 31-year-old on the verge of a permanent exit from the Etihad.

Hart has been excluded from the City team for the last two seasons by manager Pep Guardiola, spending time out on loan at Italian club Torino and Premier League outfit West Ham United.

Once an elite goalkeeper at the top level, winning two Premier League titles with City and being England’s number one for years, Hart’s career has hit the buffers and he looks a shadow of the shot-stopper he once was.

His form hasn’t been great out on loan and it’s no surprise to hear he’ll be leaving Guardiola’s side this summer.

The paper say that teams from MLS, Crystal Palace and even Rangers are all amongst the leading pack to sign him, but this is definitely one that the Hoops should avoid.

With Craig Gordon and Scott Bain already at the club, it makes little sense to invest in a new goalkeeper at this point, especially one like Hart who would likely command high wages.
