Arsenal are interested in signing Celtic defender Kieran Tierney in the upcoming transfer window, according to The Mirror.

The paper say that Gunners boss Unai Emery is looking to make three big summer signings and has earmarked the left-back position as one which could be significantly strengthened.

The under-performing Sead Kolasinac, currently rated at £18m by Transfermarkt, has frustrated supporters this season with just 33-year-old Nacho Monreal available as back-up.

Tierney is considered as one of the most exciting young full-backs around and has been linked with a number of teams across the continent recently, including Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City.

With his contract at Celtic Park not expiring until 2023 though it will likely take an enormous fee to convince the Hoops he should be sold anytime soon.

The player also seems perfectly happy at the club right now, so many stars would have to align for this move to be viable in the slightest.

Most expect the 21-year-old to stay at Celtic for another two seasons at least, with the promise of going down as a club legend as part of a 10-in-a-row push on the table.

Ultimately though money talks, and if a cash-rich club weigh in with a record breaking fee for an outgoing Hoops player then things could move quickly even if it’s not what fans want.
