With the size of Celtic’s squad, you would think that there may be a case of players being a little unhappy due to lack of game time.

Players like Liel Abada, Sead Haksabanovic and Anthony Ralston have seen themselves kicking their heels on the sidelines and could feel frustrated at being left out in the cold.

Not so says Matt O’Riley.

The Danish u21 star is also one of those players that has found himself coming off the bench of late due to the great form of Aaron Mooy, but O’Riley dismissed any notion that there are players who are unhappy and gave an insight into the excellent dressing room atmosphere that surrounds the club.

As per Celtic FC website, O’Riley said, “It’s good, it’s always a positive the more competition you have.

“People would be lying if they said they played their best football when they don’t have competition.

“And from a training perspective, everyone is training well, no one is sulking behind each other’s back, we’re all still rooting for the same goal at the end of the day and if someone else is doing well it pushes you to do well as well.”

And you can see it when the players who do come on off the bench, the amount of effort and determination they show to do well and prove to the gaffer that they should be chosen in the next game is unreal.

Competition breeds success and as long as the players understand that, which they do, then this team will be successful for a long time to come.
