Celtic star’s future clarified as exit speculation grows

|

Tom Rogic’s agent has moved to cool talk he is set for a Celtic exit, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Reports surfaced earlier this week that English clubs Southampton and Leicester City were keen on making a move for the attacking midfielder, with the Hoops said to have placed a £15m asking price on his head.

Rogic’s representative has clarified what Rogic’s focus is moving forward though and it remains Celtic.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, agent Daniel Berman said: “I’ve had no contact from Southampton or Leicester. Tom is on a long contract, is winning trophies, respects and loves the institution that is Celtic Football Club. For him, it’s all about the Treble Treble.”

It appears the Australian international is in no rush to leave Glasgow and that’s great news for us, with most fans hoping to get another good year or two out of the classy midfielder yet.

He hasn’t been as effective this season as we would have liked, suffering from injury problems and having to commit to Australian duty in the Asian Cup.

However, as we move towards a potential ninth title in a row, Rogic will again be crucial and it’s unlikely we would be able to go out and directly replace a player of his ability in the transfer market.

With his Celtic contract running until 2023, there’s absolutely no rush to sell him.
