Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has received a notice of complaint from the Scottish FA for “singing in public about Hearts in administration”.

The 23-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers marksman attended the weekend Edinburgh derby and watched the game alongside Hibernian supporters. Griffiths had spent the previous couple of seasons on loan at Easter Road.

His pre-match singing in a pub was filmed and posted on a video-sharing website and later made newspaper headlines.

The SFA have since cited rule 86, which relates to “not acting in the best interests of Association Football”, and a principal hearing date has been set for 24th April.
