Celtic striker Vakoun Bayo will miss the rest of the season after suffering a ruptured hamstring, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The Ivorian forward, who signed for a reported £2m during the January transfer window, has had a frustrating start to life at Celtic Park, making just one substitute appearance so far.

The paper reckon he will now be missing until mid-June when Celtic start preparations for vital UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

He was a player you’d have fancied to get some action in our final few games when the league title was wrapped up, allowing him to settle in the team without much pressure on his shoulders.

Both he and supporters will now have to remain patient to see him in action though.

He arrived with scoring pedigree having banged in 18 goals and assisted 7 times for Slovakian outfit Dunajska Streda in the first half of the season.

Everyone would love to see that scoring potential realised in the Hoops next season.
