Neil Lennon’s side are on the brink of achieving an unprecedented tenth successive Premiership title and it would appear that more fans than ever are clamouring to be a part of what is sure to be an historic campaign.
The club thanked the fans for their commitment, especially with no date given as yet to when they will be able return to the stadium – the Parkhead hierarchy had been looking into running test events but the Scottish Government remain unmoved and October now seems to be the earliest in which any mass congregation will take place.
The support truly appear to be backing Neil Lennon and his players in the best way possible, with their wallets, and the statement released by club couldn’t have been more gushing in their praise:
“We have received a phenomenal response from fans desperate to secure a season ticket for the campaign ahead. We are truly grateful for your wonderful support.
“Thank you to the 17,000 of you that have also signed up to the Waiting List so far!
“Once again the support you have shown to the team, and the club has been staggering, and is vital to our success as we prepare for this hugely important season ahead.”
All that remains now is for the board to start repaying the fans by either announcing new contracts for the likes of Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard or by securing the return of Fraser Forster, moves that would all but guarantee a packed Celtic Park the biggest title celebration in their lifetimes.
