Celtic have been linked with many players this transfer window and whilst there will be many more to come (links that is), one player that was heavily tipped to come to Glasgow has now ruled himself out of a move.

Mohanad Jeahze has long been touted for a move to Paradise.

The Iraqi left back was thought to be Celtic’s next transfer over the last few weeks but he has now ruled himself out of a move.

As cited by Aftonbladet (courtesy of 67 Hail Hail), Jeahze said, “I think I will stay at Hammarby.

“I have a contract for another year. I’m fully set on that now, and Jeppe [Hammarby’s sporting director] has said no to something too.

“Jeppe said no. You simply have to accept it. It may not have been enough for them.

“We’re at the top. It would have been a different matter if we were in the middle, it might have been heavier. Now there are no problems.

“Yes [the bid was real]. But that was not enough for any of us. Neither me nor Hammarby.

Would Jordan Larsson be a good signing for Celtic?

“It was a good team. Maybe I was not so hungry for it – I have patience. Maybe something else will come this summer.

“It is clear that I want to go abroad at some point. Everyone has a dream of trying something new.

“But I love (Hammarby) and how Jeppe Jansson wants to take the club forward. I want to go abroad and test myself but we play good football with Marti [Cifuentes, the club’s manager].”

Nothing to do with Celtic set to announce Bernabei as their second left back in the coming days?

Or am I just being cynical?
