According to Serbian outlet Telegraf, Strahinja Pavlovic is set for a move from Partizan Belgrade, but not to Celtic this summer.

The player is only young but it seems as though he is expected to be a decent footballer in the years to come with the report suggesting that Lazio are the side set to sign him having ‘shaken hands’ with the Serbian side.

This is a blow for us, then, as the Daily Record – among other outlets – has reported that he has been a target for us this summer and that Neil Lennon has already scouted him this season.

It’s a shame for us, then, but when a side from the likes of Serie A comes calling, it is always going to be hard to compete – especially when it’s a big club like Lazio.

We’ll move on, then, and it remains to be seen if Lennon decides to sign a new centre-half before the window shuts.
