With the transfer window almost upon us, Celtic are expected to make some moves to help bolster the squad in time for the title run in.

With the usual stories of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi just not going away, another name has crept in from left field.

Icelandic international, Albert Gudmundsson, has been tipped to make the move to Paradise by The Telegraph.

The news outlet claims that Celtic are hoping to land the attacking winger for free in the summer as his contract expires in June next year.

With Gudmundsson free to talk to clubs in January, The Telegraph reports that the Hoops are keen to make contact but do face competition from their closest rivals.

At just 24 years old, Gudmundsson has already earned 29 caps for his country and scored six goals. Predominantly a right sided attacker, he can switch wings and play in that coveted number ten role, currently occupied by Tom Rogic.

Valued at £3.6m [Transfermarkt], his club AZ Alkmaar could strike a deal rather than lose him for free at the end of the season and with the attacking areas being a priority area to strengthen due to Celtic’s injury crisis, Postecoglou may be of a mind to broker a cut price deal.

Need a target man Greek looked like he could hold ball up when we go long with midfield so congested people say final ball from wings are poor it might be we have no tall forwards will hope the Greek when fit will go on a run of goals and assets he gets into good position opposition just have the near post to protect with crosses when he’s back or if we get another tall forward be able to lift the ball for taller forward cause there is only one option the now any high ball looks bad cause forwards are small and ball goes over
