Celtic have had numerous excellent goalkeepers over the years. From as far back as the legendary Lisbon Lion, Ronnie Simpson and the late great John Thomson to the more recent historical icons like ‘The Holy Goalie‘ Artur Boruc and ‘The Gran Muralla’  Fraser Forster, Celtic have been blessed with some truly fantastic ‘keepers over the generations.

Without getting too misty eyed, we have also had our fair share of disasters. From Dorus de Vries, the infamous Carl Muggleton to the most recent Vasilios Barkas, thankfully we have had more success stories than nightmares.

With the number one shirt up for grabs, Celtic have been tipped to land 6ft 7″ monster keeper and Swedish international, Andreas Linde from Molde.

Linde is currently under contract to December 2021 and Celtic could land the big stopper on a free, but depending on how desperate the Hoops are to capture him, they could acquire him for a nominal fee as Molde would look to rake in some form of recompense rather than lose him for nothing.

Which area of the team requires the most investment?

The 27  year old was in outstanding form for the Norwegians in the the Europa League where he helped his side progress to the last 16 stage with some impressive displays against Hoffenheim and Rapid Vienna.

Linde is quickly gaining a reputation for stringing together stunning saves and will most likely be sought after on the Continent after his Europa League heroics, but with guaranteed European football and the opportunity to challenge for medals every season, would the move to Celtic be a more tempting offer for the ‘keeper to build on his lone solitary Norwegian Eliteserien Champion medal?
