According to the Sunday Post, the Bhoys are to battle Rangers for Jon Flanagan’s signature in this summer window.
Flanagan was part of the Liverpool side that came close to winning the Premier League title in 2013/14 where he was, of course, working under Brendan Rodgers.
He also played alongside Steven Gerrard, too, so that explains why the Gers are apparently interested.
Since that season, though, injury and off-field matters have seen him lose his way career-wise and the 25-year-old is now a free agent after being released by Liverpool.
Rangers can have him.
A few years ago I think he would have been a more than welcome signing but in recent years he’s not even earned a spot in Burnley or Bolton’s teams on loan.
He’s not really good enough for us at this stage and I certainly think we can find better options for sure in this summer window.
