Me personally? I can’t see it.

I can’t see Ange undoing all his goos work in building Celtic’s defence to sign a player who has the habit of being a bit of a bombscare in the back line.

Even if he was on a free.

Ryan Porteous is a player that divides opinion across many supporter bases in Scotland.

Since December 2019, Porteous has missed a total of twelve matches due to suspension. Eight of those were for red cards [Transfermarkt].

Compare that to Scott Brown who missed a total of eleven games in his entire career, that shows in itself that Porteous is getting the reputation of being a liability.

But it seems that Paul John Dykes reckons Celtic ould be interested in him after his club tweeted that he wouldn’t be signing a contract extension this season.

Speaking on A Celtic State of Mind, Dykes said, “There was a tweet that came out from Hibs official Twitter account to state that Ryan Porteous would not be signing a new contract with Hibs.

“And it got me thinking, as you do a round Celtics transfer business, and I was wondering, would Ange Postecoglou consider a move for this boy?

“What would the circumstances be for us to do so?

“I do have a couple of Hibees in and around the studio, who rave about Ryan Porteous.

“But if you watch any of the broadcasts I’ve done, I’m not the biggest fan.

“However, I get the feeling that the worlds might align, we might be in for this boy.”

Like I said at the start, I just can’t see it. Even for free and at 23 years old, Porteous would pose too much of a risk in Celtic’s backline.

Put it this way, would you trust him to keep his cool in a Glasgow Derby?

I think that question says it all.

Who am I? How good is your Celtic player knowledge?

    He is not for us.
He is a decent player, but no more than that. He is not as good as any player you could name in our squad. Also, he cheats and he does not have the decent human qualities required to be a member of our squad.
    So no way!

Good God No. Better suited to the other mob.
