Celtic are still waiting to learn if a couple of their leading players will be able to face Juventus in the last sixteen of the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

“We will give Georgios as much time as is needed” – Neil Lennon

Greek international striker Georgios Samaras was hoping to recover from a hamstring injury while central defender Efe Ambrose is still to return from Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations final win over Burkina Faso on Sunday.

But the SPL champions are boosted by the returns of left-back Emilio Izaguirre (knee) and winger James Forrest (hamstring).

“It is as you were with Samaras, we will make a decision on him on Tuesday,” manager Neil Lennon told BBC Scotland. “Izaguirre trained today and has joined the squad and Forrest is fit and Ambrose, we expect to arrive on Tuesday morning.

“We will see what condition he is in and if he is OK, we will have him in the squad,” he added. “We will give Georgios as much time as is needed.”
