A left back, midfielder and a striker.

That’s the positions Celtic have been tipped to strengthen in this transfer window right?

But what about the one key position that no one seems to be mentioning. The one area that if we were to get an injury, would leave us up a creek without a paddle?

The goalkeeping position.

Joe Hart has been immense for the Hoops this season. Providing much needed steel at the back line and instills confidence in his defence, what would be do if he got injured?

Barkas or Bain? Both seemingly deemed not good enough as their appearances have shown.

I have said before that I believe Celtic should be looking for another keeper.

Our over reliance on Hart could come back to bite us and when asked on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard who he thought would be a good option as back up, Gordon Dalziel agreed with a caller and named Dundee United stopper, Benji Siegrist, “There’s no doubt Celtic will have someone on the radar to come in there.

“Siegrist up at Dundee United has been brilliant.

“I think a few clubs will be certainly looking at him.

“But I’m sure that you’ve got to trust a manager Postecoglou. He’s not he’s not failed in the transfer window yet.

“He’ll probably have his eyes and ears open and looking for a goalkeeper to obviously not just be a backup, you want someone to come in and and challenge Joe Hart.

“And I think Joe Hart would want that as well.

“Because if you’re a goalkeeper and you’re guaranteed your place like Joe Hart is, and deservedly so, because he was your best goalkeeper by a mile at Celtic.

“But if you get someone coming in and you’re looking over your shoulder thinking I need to keep my performance up, it’s great for the manager, it’s great for the team and it’s great for Joe Hart as well.”

Siegrist has been superb for The Terrors and would be a great option to have and would keep Hart on his toes and as he is out of contract at the end of the season, it would a be low risk move by the Hoops.
