Celtic won’t be selling French midfielder Olivier Ntcham during this transfer window despite serious interest from Portuguese giants Porto, according to The Daily Mail.

The paper say that Porto are willing to pay £14m for the stand-out Celtic star, but the Hoops have said he is firmly not for sale in the final few days of the transfer window.

That’s great news for supporters, especially in the wake of reported serious interest in Moussa Dembele. Losing one is definitely not ideal but losing two of Celtic’s French stars would be a critical blow to Brendan Rodgers’ squad this late in the window.

Ntcham has emerged as one of the best players at the club over the last 12 months and is so important to the way the team play both at home and in Europe.

He is one of Brendan Rodgers’ creative playmaking forces and carries a direct goal threat too, scoring eight last term and already chipping in with three this season.

Ideally the Hoops hold on to all of the big players before the end of Friday, something we’ve managed to do well over the past couple of seasons. However, as we know, the failure to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League can result in exits.

At least Ntcham won’t be one of them!

Is keeping Ntcham vital to Celtic’s ambitions over the next couple of seasons? Have your say in the comments below…
