Celtic secured safe passage to the semi-finals of the Betfred League Cup with a thumping 5-0 win over Patrick Thistle on Wednesday night but it was one selection pre-match that raised eyebrows.

Youngster Lewis Morgan was selected by manager, Neil Lennon and loads of Celtic fans were unhappy with this, feeling that he has had his chance and, as yet, has done little to merit a starting jersey.

With Scott Sinclair apparently keen to resume his career at Parkhead and Lennon offering the Englishman an olive branch, many thought this would be the occasion that he returned to the starting line-up.

Whilst Morgan offered very little in the 90 minutes, Sinclair came on and within 10 minutes had scored his second goal of the season in just 5 appearances. He has yet to play 90 minutes of football in total this season according to Transfermarkt.

Celtic fans took to twitter to display their unhappiness at Lennon picking Morgan again when there are better options in the squad.
