Celtic won’t be signing Harry Wilson this summer after Liverpool ruled out loaning him out to the Scottish champions next season, as reported by The Liverpool Echo.
Brendan Rodgers had earlier this week been linked with a move for the player from his former club, seeing him as a potential replacement for the departed Patrick Roberts.
With Charly Musonda also returning to Chelsea earlier than expected, Celtic are in need of some reinforcement on the flanks ahead of the new campaign.
However, it seems those spells for Roberts and Musonda in Glasgow may have played a part in the Reds’ decision not to send Wilson north, with The Echo claiming that Liverpool had concerns about the way the Hoops used the duo over the past couple of season.

Wilson is ready for more first team football after impressing on loan at Hull City in the English Championship last season, joining in January and scoring 7 goals in 13 appearances.
Also capped by the Welsh national team, it’s clear he has the potential to be effective in the Scottish top-flight. Given Rangers were also credited with an interest in him, bringing him to Celtic Park would have ticked plenty of boxes.
However, he clearly won’t be coming playing in the Hoops any time soon, with Celtic now having to move onto other targets ahead of important European qualifiers.
