Last nights results was certainly an earth bumper.

And boy were we brought back down quickly.

Bodo Glimt showed last night why they are back to back champions of Norway. Slick, workman like and some great one touch football undone a Celtic team that, normally, out play and batter teams from the kick off.

Last night, we got a taste of our own medicine and, man, it was bitter.

But that taste also put where we are into context which former Celtic striker Chris Sutton summed up perfectly on twitter when he said, “Bodo/Glimt superb tonight and deserved the win.

“Well done to them.

“Celtic too many players not at the level and a disappointing display but maybe a bit of perspective needed.

“The team have come a long way this season.

“A good reminder that there is much work still to be done.”

And that is it in a nutshell.

I’m not ashamed to say I carried away. I had us beating Bodo with three clear goals last night.

I felt we had a good chance of progressing at least to the semi final stages as only three teams left in the competition, I felt, could cause us problems.

PSV, Marseille and Leicester City.

How wrong was I?
