We’re still coming to terms with Celtic’s performance against RB Leipzig on Thursday evening. Despite the Hoops looking poor in Europe as of late, we really turned on the style against the German outfit, and we deserved our win – that’s for sure.

Many of the boys in green in white deserve praise for their game, and they will rightly get those plaudits over the next few days, but BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has identified one player that deserves particular praise.

Taking to Twitter, Sutton said: “Celtic at their very best Performance of the season 2-1”.

He added: “King Edouard came of age…very special”.

Sutton is, of course, referring to goalscorer Odsonne Edouard, who bagged the second of our two goals. Sutton certainly knows a thing or two about top forwards, owing to his own history!

The forward put in a very solid performance, as he has for much of the season, and it was just the kind of game that he needed. His domestic form has been good, but he hadn’t yet had many historic nights in Europe. This game certainly was that for him, and it cemented the 22-year-old as the ideal man to lead our line going forward.

We’re hoping that he’ll use that to only get better over the coming weeks. He’s already scored 7 league goals this season.
