Celtic are clearly in the market to purchase young talent.

The clubs most recent transfer business has shown that with the capture of Johnny Kenny and the summer signings of Osaze Urhoghide, Liel Abada and Liam Scales.

But what they have also done is blend the balance of youth and experience which is a change of the norm over the last 6-7 years.

Today, a report [The Daily Record] emerged that the Hoops could land their reported summer target, Lee Buchanan for next to nothing.

Derby County have hit some serious financial problems this season and as the club try and find a way to cut some of their losses, the recent move of Graeme Shinnie from The Rams to Wigan for an incredible £30k, may tempt the Parkhead side to test the administrators resolve with a cheeky winter move.

Buchanan is expected to return from injury over the coming days after a two month lay off but at just 20 years old, and the fact that he is out of contract at the end of the summer, Celtic could land him for peanuts.

Derby do have the option to extend Buchanan’s contract but due to being in administration, they cannot yet trigger that clause.

Might be worth keeping an eye on this one in the coming days.
