How did I miss this? I mean at the time there was so much being said and written about Dom McKay’s departure it was extremely hard to keep up with it all.

But still, Chris Sutton’s opinions on the Dom McKay situation is one that should never have been missed. Black mark for me.

Sutton is popular amongst almost all the Hoops fans as the former Celtic striker tends to tell it how it is and if there’s an opportunity to stick it to our rivals across the city, he generally doesn’t miss!

Sutton not only praises Dom McKay’s short reign at Celtic, he has also hinted that Ange Postecoglou will be looking at bringing in a backroom team now that the transfer window is over.

But in his column in The Daily Record, Sutton wrote five words that will make the Parkhead faithful lose sleep at night, “The manager will want someone in place and it’ll be seen whether Nicholson is central to that or whether that will wait until a permanent appointment is made.

“Could Lawwell even go back? Unlikely, but you never know with anything in the game of football.

“Postecoglou also has to get backroom staff members arranged and, again, he will be looking at that with the window closed and the squad now settled until January.

“Wrapping everything together, you look at where Celtic were at when McKay walked in the front door and you look at where they are now and it would be difficult to argue that they are not in a better place.

“Generally, that’s the barometer for anyone in a position of power at a football club.

“So, in that sense, McKay’s time, if short, should probably be seen as successful.”

Sutton gave a very decent write up about Dom McKay’s short 72 day stint in charge and, if he did, bringing in Ange Postecoglou may be the one thing he will be remembered fondly for by the Celtic fans.

But a Lawwell return? I know the former CEO has a reputation for making massive calls in Parkhead over his tenure, but surely this is one is a bridge too far?
