Celtic are obviously a world renowned club. Steeped in history from the story of it’s roots, to the Lisbon Lions to the current crop of stars currently aiming for a world record Quadruple Treble, the club has this habit of hooking people in and making them fall in love with it.
From Rod Stewart to Snoop Dog the musical celebrity fan base of Celtic Football Club stretches far and wide and this latest reveal of another legendary celebrity following the Hoops will definitely “Stir it Up”. Rohan Marley was speaking exclusively to the Celtic View and told of his love affair with Celtic and how it was inspired by his Celtic supporting dad, Bob Marley. Rohan spoke of how his dad talked about Celtic whilst on tour and how he watched recordings of The Hoops whilst on his European tours,
“I always loved Celtic, they were one of my father’s favourite teams,
“He would talk about Celtic and that’s how I came to know them.
“When he was in Europe, he was able to see a lot of the big football games on TV. He watched a lot of English football and Scottish football. He would record all the games and I watched them years later at my grandmother’s house.
“That’s how I came across all these Celtic players from the late 1970s and early ‘80s because I’d watch these tapes of Celtic versus Rangers games over and over again.”
As the Hoops gear up to make history on Sunday, I’m sure Rohan will be cheering the boys on.
