With Celtic looking to rebuild the squad in time for the Champions League qualifiers in July, it seems one deal is almost concluded as the Hoops look to bring Mario Vuskovic to Glasgow.

The classy young defender has been attracting attention from across Europe but it looks like the Glasgow giants are firmly in the driving seat as they blow potential suitors out the water with an outstanding financial package.

Croatian media outlet Sportske Novosti, report that Celtic have offered Vuskovic almost TEN TIMES his annual salary to reject Torino for Glasgow.

The young defender is currently on €85,000 per year at Hadjuk Split but Sportske Novosti have claimed Vuskovic is about to sign for Celtic in a sensational deal that is worth almost ten times his current salary at €700,000 per year.

With Celtic effectively outmuscling Italian giants Torino, this really is a statement of intent by the Parkhead club.

Ange Postecoglou’s revolution looks like it’s well on its way, and the focus on youth seems to be the order of the day.

Kresimir Gojun, head of the Hajduk academy, said back in 2018 that the youngster was ‘dominant in challenges’, ‘exceptional in buildup play’ and ‘can score from free-kicks like a No 10’.

It seems Celtic fans are in for a treat with this exciting young defender and with the Hoops flexing their financial power, it would seem that Vuscovik will be Ange Postecoglou’s first signing of the summer.

This will most definitely be an interesting transfer window for the Celtic fans and after Postecoglou’s first media conference, the fans are growing confidence that their new boss is the man to take the club forward.
